North-Equatorial Pass: Guayllabamba, Quitsato, Otavalo

At 7:00am starts the departure towards Guallyabamba’s Zoo. Where you can admire the Andean bears enclosure and interpretation exhibit. Then, Visit Quitsato, an open air museum that shows the knowledge of the indigenous ancestral communities about astrology, located right on the Equatorial line.

Continue to Otavalo, an ancestral community known to hold the largest indigenous market of the Americas where they share their handicrafts, weaving, art and crafts. Next, Sacha Ji, located over the San Pablo Lake, enjoy this mystical place with an ancestral healing Andean ceremony. Return to Quito by 18:00

North-West Pass: The Cloud Forest

At 6:00 you depart with your guide to Yanacocha. This privately-owned reserve is located on the foothills of the Pichincha Volcano at an altitude 3500 meters; home of the Andean Bear and the endemic black breasted puffleg hummingbird. Enjoy breakfast at this natural setting, to then continue to drive through the eco route “El Quinde” (hummingbird in Quichua) in a pristine cloud forest where there is a good chance of spotting related wildlife.

After a 2-hour journey, you will reach Bellavista Cloud Forest Lodge to enjoy a 2-hour hike. The lodge provides lunch surrounded by different species of hummingbirds. At 18:00 you will return to Quito.

East Slopes Pass: Antisana & Papallacta

At 6:30am you depart from Quito towards the Antisana Ecological Reserve. Reaching the Paramo, a highland grassland surrounding the astonishing Antisana snow-caped capped volcano, is the home of the Andean bear and the largest population of condors in the Ecuadorian Andes.

Breakfast will be at El Tambo Condor, where you can admire views of condors nesting along the high mountain wall formation from old lava flows, as well as bird sightings which include: hummingbirds, gulls, ibis, raptors. Next, a visit to Jocotoco Antisanilla private reserve where a box-lunch will be served. Finally, cross the high pass to reach Papallacta Hot Springs to enjoy the Spa facilities. Return to Quito at 18:00

Historical Quito and the Middle of the World

At 8:30am departure from the Hotel Hilton Colon Quito to visit The Historical Center. Quito was the first city to be declared by UNESCO as “Patrimony of mankind”. Here you will be able admire the Independence Square, the Government Palace and visit La Compañía Church; considered the crown Jewel of Catholic churches in the Americas. Next, visit the San Francisco Convent and Casa del Alabado Museum, which holds the most important pre – colombian art collection.

Continue to The Middle of the World Complex where with a single step you will be able stand in both the Northern to the Sothern Hemisphere. You will be able to have lunch at the complex. The return to Quito will be at 17:00.
